The Goddard School is a childcare and early learning development center for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. With over 600 locations nationwide, each Goddard School franchise is individually owned and operated to ensure every child is properly cared for. Unlike in-home schools and other national chains, The Goddard School provides children with a specialized curriculum that prioritizes interactive educational experiences.
Laura and Trevor Seiter are first-time small business owners and run one of The Goddard School’s franchise locations located in Oxford, Michigan. With a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Laura has worked in several industries throughout her career, including sales, purchasing, and plant management. Trevor has worked for many large corporations as a Certified Public Accountant. In the last few years, they decided they wanted to run their own business together. They determined that owning a Goddard School franchise would be personally meaningful as well as a good fit for their family.
When they were ready to purchase their own Goddard School, Laura and Trevor were advised by officials at the franchise to use SBA financing due to its many benefits. They introduced the couple to Brendan McMoran, one of our experienced Business Development Officers, as he had worked with several Goddard School borrowers in the past. Brendan was ultimately able to structure an SBA 7(a) loan with a 5-year fixed rate and an Express Line of Credit to purchase a Goddard School location.
