The Goddard School is a national early childhood education franchise that serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Each location offers a thorough curriculum designed to support children's intellectual development. This safe and nurturing environment is what inspired Lindsay and Jonathan Tom to open their own location in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lindsay and Jonathan first encountered The Goddard School when finding childcare options for their son when they lived in Irvine, California. They were impressed with the location and began investigating into potential franchise opportunities with The Goddard School. The family eventually moved to Las Vegas, as Jonathan often travelled there for work. They noticed the northwestern region of the city was a burgeoning region for young families, yet there was a lack of quality childcare. Lindsay and Jonathan saw that opening a new Goddard School location would help satisfy the needs of the community.
The couple connected with The Goddard School to inquire about financing for their new location. They were interested in pursuing an SBA loan because of its lower downpayment requirements. The franchisor’s financial team recommended a few SBA lenders, including Brendan McMoran, one of our experienced Business Development Officers. Upon their introduction, Lindsay and Jonathan felt that Brendan was a perfect fit. Brendan worked closely with them through every step of the lending process. Ultimately, Lindsey and Jonathan’s SBA 7(a) loan covered their start-up costs, FF&E, and working capital for the location. Brendan was also able to secure a 10% downpayment and 3-year fixed rate for the loan.
